The guys are REALLY REALLY not going to want to read this....
Okay, so I know they are going to but they will after I say this-
IT INVOLVES A WOMAN'S YEARLY PAP SMEAR!
Okay that should get rid of most of em...
Now, I got my pap smear results two weeks ago and they were abnormal so they called me and I had a copolscopy and it showed me my cervix (ain't no way a baby is coming out of something that small!). So anyway, they did 3 biposies (which hurt a whole lot by the way). I got my results yesterday and I have CN1 and dysplasia... so they want to either cryo my cervix or LEEP it...
Now, have any of you ladies had either of these done?
What is it like during/after each one?
I am scared. I know that these cells are only PRECANCEROUS, but I want to have babies someday so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I stopped at the " pap smear" phrase, my stomach churned and I got goose bumps while shaking my head in disgust.
Shame on you.....

Oh hon, I'm sorry. Unfortunately I have no experience with this. You might want to change the thread title to something more descriptive so that all the women on here will be more apt to check it out.
I hope everything goes ok.

Hey I'm pretty young and really have no knowledge on this subject.
However, just thank god you caught it early. My 47 year old skating coach, who had gone through menopause, got pregnant and had a beautiful little boy. My friend's sister, who had never gotten a period in her life, got pregnant the night of her honeymoon. The doctors told her this was impossible, but she delivered it and he's great.
My point is, there is such a good chance that everything will work out. Stranger things have happened.
Good luck to you.

They're still not really sure how it happened- she was pretty skinny and never really developed, always had a little boy body. She had one period in 6th grade, but that was it.
But yeah, he's like 3 now and everybody's good. She's having problems getting pregnant again but at least she got one perfect one.

I'm actually in your shoes right now and i actually had the LEEP procedure done back in October. It was kind of like the colposcopy (sp?) but the whole procedure took no longer then 5-10 mins. If you'd like you can PM me and i'll give you the whole details, but it wasnt too painful and it wasnt as scary has the doctor described it to me.

That kinda reminds me of those stories you hear about Olympic athlethes who are somewhat underdeveloped and never get a period.
But hey, I'm jealous of your sister's friend! I wish I never had a period!

I would wager that ilovemyglo is not much older than you darlin' lol.
Does she come across as an old women?
ilovemyglo, if I didn't know you have a wicked sense of humour I wouldn't say this, but I am reminded of Orlando Jones in the movie "Evolution" when he screams, " there is always time for lubricant!"
I know several girls that had this done, about axjules age and they had no problems with the procedure and no problems later either. ITs really just a precautionary measure.

My only question is, how can something so big go into something that looks so small? Then how can something so big come out of something so small!
I did not totally understand all of that medical S**T but if it is serious, I for one hope everything will be all right!
I guess it is Gods way of making a miracle happen.

Nothing goes in the cervix (except sperm, which are microscopic). The woman's body prepares for months...and the cervix dilates very very slowly over the course of the last few hours/days/weeks of pregnancy to allow the baby to come out. Right now, I'm completely amazed by the miracle of birth and am boggled that it could happen to me someday.
I've never had anything like that done, but we've been doing a lot of work with cervices (?) as of late, so I'm relatively familiar with your condition(s).
