Housing
Hi girls,
I am the president of DG at Salisbury University--a university close to the maryland beaches. Our greek percentage is 6% and growing!! The problem we are running into is we're outgrowing everything...meeting room..greek leadership house..ect. I contacted EO on their stance on us getting a chapter house. All the greeks are for the idea of creating "Frat Row" and the school supports it. If the house is owned by the university we can have as many people live in it as possible--we are at 50 now (we lost alot of seniors!), but are doing back to back recruitments since we are changing over to deferred recruitment. I anticipate that because of this we should prob be at least at 70 this spring--it all depends on how many girls come out. My question here is how did you all begin to raise the money to obtain a chapter house. Housing on the eastern shore is pretty cheap...about $200,000 for a decent size house! Also keep in mind we are the baby on campus--only founded in 1996!! So its not like we have prosperous alum either--they are just getting their feet on the ground as well. ANY IDEAS??
