This year is going to be great-we want to do really well for recruitment because we are a small chapter. I know our sorority is one of the greatest in the nation and we should show our spirit-but, does anyone know how to get more chapters out there?--At PSU we have seperate small campuses and one of those branch campuses has 3 sororities on it. The ones that are represented are Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Sigma Tau and a local one Kappa Phi Delta. At the University Park in State College (which is where the Beta Mu chapter is at) we have Gamma Phi Beta but, no Alpha Sigma Tau. I tried to contact nationals about seeing if they would want to make Kappa Phi Delta a national Phi Mu chapter that could help our numbers rise when the girls transfer to the main park in the fall and spring but, I never got a reply. I realize Nationals are busy doing great things for us, so-I felt bad even contacting them. We are the greatest sorority around and we want people to see that-how do we charter our sorority at a smaller branch campus of the same university? I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction...

welcome to the boards! i was at beta mu's re-installation in 96! i wish you ladies a great year! as far as the sororities on the branch campus...the panhel on the campus has to vote to expand before a national can present there. when the campus is ready to expand they send info to npc and then npc announces it to all of the orgs. that is the basic gist of what happens.

PinkyPhiMu-thanx for your info...I was just wondering because Gamma Phi Beta took over a local chapter on the Altoona or Mont Alto campus whereas I wonder if we could take the local chapter on that same campus and make them Phi Mus because that would be GREAT!!! I def. think it would help us out. I'm not talking necessarily about adding a fourth chapter on that branch campus but, I would love to see us sort of add ourselves to that Kappa Phi Delta and make them nationally recognized Phi Mus. Gamma Phi Beta doesn't hurt in their numbers because if they don't do that well during recruitment-at least they have other girls on the other branch campus that will be transfering to the main campus-so, it doesn't matter to them that much. We need that same luxury because we are such a great chapter w/ awesome girls that deserve to have better numbers. There is a local chapter on our campus that has said to get pledges by claiming that Phi Mu (because we have the nicest suite) is so small that we will lose our charter and they will have ours....I don't want other chapters on campus thinking we are leaving because the Beta Mu chapter is here to stay!!!!! Please let me know what you think would be a good thing to do because I am totally devoted to the chapter, as well as my great sisters. Thanx for your input-LIOB....
