Exorcism of Emily Rose - Freaky!

Okay, so my friend just sent me this trailer and it's seriously the freakiest thing I've ever seen...the fact that it's based on a true story makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up...

You guys have to watch it.... I guess it really happened in Germany in the 1960s...

I gotta see this...

My mom told me she saw a preview for it on Entertainment Tonight and I nearly flipped out. I'm TERRIFIED of The Exorcist, I saw it for the first time when I was 9 and I swear I'm scarred for life. My mom said they're calling it even scarier than The Exorcist, which sucks cuz I'm sure my friends are going to convince me to go see it at school when it's released.

The trailer on ET was enough of a warning for me to stay away from this movie. VERY SCAREY looking, not to mention it was a real life!

Couldn't pay me enough to watch this one. Sorry, bf will have to go without me.

When I watched the Exorcist, I was thirteen... I don't think I slept very well for the next three months! I watched the trailer for this movie, and I don't think it looked that scary but it spooked me a little bit to think about it. I will probably go see the movie, then regret it when I can't sleep ever again!

Ill be totally honested here. I was always been one of those kids who loved scary movies, and watched a ton. Well, about 5 years ago, The Exorcist played at the local theatre over Thanksgiving weeked, and me and several friends went to see it. The entire movie I laughed. I know, that sounds awful, but the movie just tickled my funny bone, and I still think it is one of funniest movies I have ever seen. Maybe if I had seen it back in the day when it was released, I would be scared. However, I just find it really funny now.

Co-sign. I still think I'd like to see it though. I like movies like that. "Scary" movies don't actually scare me, but I still nejoy the genre.

While the movie might be freaky, I didn't find the preview at all scary.

I laugh through it now because they show it every year at Georgetown and we say all the lines like the Rock Horror Picture Show.

THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!

But back in the day, it was hella disturbing.

Okay, peeps - how could you NOT be scared? Do you guys hear that recording in the beginning??? That's actually based off the REAL recording of her being exorcised.... I think the tape is like 12 hours. The fact that this 19 year old girl in Germany actually went through this in the 60's totally freaks me out.

But sure - everyone has their own opinion of what's scary. But the Laura Linney's in it too, so I'm sold

Could it have been the way the movie was made? I mean it was made more than 20 years ago.

Little things make me jump, no matter how campy the movie is. But I've seen horror flicks from the early 80s that cracked me up but still scared me a bit in a few key moments.

But I remember seeing "The Omen" in high school and that movie was hilarious.

I haven't seen the Omen, but I konw what you mean about seeing some scary movies that are just funny and not scary at all...

I just saw SAW recently - and that legititmitely freaked me out. So did Seven...another good one.

Just found the true story that Emily Rose is based off of:

Urinating on the floor??? Damn, get that woman exorcised!

Well, it looks like it could be a pretty good movie.
I wonder if these movies are really based on true events or just said that they are. The Exorcist is also supposedly based on the true story of a little boy who was possessed back in the 50s or 60s (so my dad tells me. he loves researching this stuff since he is such a big lover of horror movies)

Yeah, I've heard that as well about The Exorcist. Did you read the story about Anneliese (aka: Emily Rose)?? Definitely sounds real to me....Plus, there IS an actual recording of the exorcism somewhere...a tape that recorded the whole thing. I wonder who has it....
