Italian Charm Bracelets

I'm about to start an Italian charm bracelet. Does anyone have any advice?

Get charms that are different colors. For instance, every other one of mine is gold and the ones inbetween are blue (it just happened to work out that way). It makes the bracelet look so much prettier! And watch out for charms off of Ebay. A lot of those charms are fake and look really bad on your bracelet. I've gotten my charms from www.HeavenlyTreasures.com and http://www.allsports.com/cgi-bin/sto...bracelets.html . Have fun!

When you say that the eBay charms are fake--what do you mean? That they're only gold-plated or they're cruddy quality?

A bit of both. I got my charm bracelet entirely off of e-bay, and you can tell it's just not the same quality as a real one. The charms are usually only gold-plated and are often not as secure..

but on a plus note.. i only spent like $30CDN on it total, which is about 6x less than had I bought the real charms.

I got some nice Alpha Xi Delta charms from http://www.aaitaly.com/

Some of the department stores have nice charms for reasonable prices as well.

Ever since I saw Italian Charm bracelet kiosk at my local mall, I have been thinking of getting one myself. I like that site that would allow you to customize your letters, but I like the three sites that I checked out.

I love mine. I only have a few charms so it's a real slow work in progress. I bought a ZTA charm from a seller off of eBay and I will say this, the charm was a dangle and broke - totally my fault - and the seller is sending me another one, no questions asked. His name on eBay is Big Miami (something like that) - he's based out of Miami, FL and has TONS of sorority themed charms.

I bought my Italian charm bracelet from Piercing Pagoda, and it's stainless steel and 18K. I like it because it goes well with my white and yellow medals. Anyway, mine has seven charms--it spells out my name--and with the buy one get one half off deal Piercing Pagoda was running it cost around $70 including the bracelet.

Bump! I started my bracelet about 3 weeks ago and I would love to see what others have on theirs.

I am seriously thinking about getting this charm

Ooooh I like it! I see they also have a Gamma Phi charm. I want a bracelet, too. Tell me, can you put the charms on yourself or do you need to let the jeweler do it?

I have a Nomination bracelet. I got a bracelet and some charms for my birthday and my parents got me two more for Hannukah and they said they're just gonna get me more later. *WinkWink* LOL. The charms I have: Gold Star of David, Gold Horseshoe, rhinestone cherries (so adorable), blue enamel rectangle on a gold background, pink enamel star on a gold background, a gold M, a gold and red enamel starfish, and pink and purple hearts. You can add the charms on yourself, but I really have a lot of trouble doing it so I usually just get someone to do that for me.

I'm planning mine carefully before I start buying charms. Well, I have one--a slipper orchid--and have decided on several to look for, including a cross, an Easter basket, some Christmas symbol, something to signify the kids and my husband, Pi Phi, a pumpkin, a Shih Tzu, a carnation, cherries, something Mexican, and something Chinese. Maybe they have them for my alma maters too?

Oh yeah, and I just got one with Easter Marshmallow Peeps on it! What do the rest of you have--or plan to have--on yours?

a Capricorn charm

Hoping to add
A December birthstone charm
