test drive gone BAD

Gather around while I tell you an unbelievable tale....

My friend decides she wants a new car...pref a convertible, pref expensive, since she just started her own business, so she began last week with the BMW Z4 and 330, moved over to the Nissan Z, but decided on a new Mercedes SLK. Now here’s where it gets GOOD…

She goes to the dealership, to make her decision, and decides to go for a test drive. With no paperwork signed, no liability forms filled out, the dealer takes her on the freeway...Unfortunately, on the way back, with her behind the wheel, she gets into an accident...KEEP IN MIND STICKER PRICE ON THIS CAR IS $78,000 NICE RIGHT! Driving 50mph down the freeway, A DEER runs out in front of her, and she hits is straight on, the front end of this beautiful car, GONE! The windshield shattered, the convertible top was down, so glass was everywhere, blood everywhere...and the car was trashed!

SAD RIGHT, the police come, determine it was an act of god, and there was nothing she could have done, and therefore NO POINTS, not her fault. The Mercedes dealership confirmed that there was nothing she could have done, and will not sue her for damages, stating: "that’s why they have insurance" lucky right! but here's where it gets good, SHE STILL IS GOING TO BUY A MERECEDES, just not that exact one... good news for the end of the story tho, she walked away from it!

Sorry...I fail to see why this story is so unbelievable. Sounds like she survived the accident and the dealership was easy to work with. Why wouldn't she buy from them?

Was it the 280 Roaster? 350 Roadster? Or the AMG Roadster?

I only ask because I want to know what was in that bad boy to make it 78K.

The top end SLK usually goes for around 63k, nicely equipped....

Gotta love Cali though, it's crazy to think of how much people will spend on a car.

Why not, indeed. She hit a deer and walked away - that's a good solid car.

You have to admit that getting in an accident while test driving a car is bad enough, since technically the dealers tends to sue for damage when that happens, but getting in an accident because a deer darts out onto the freeway during a test drive is pretty unbelievable. Especially since this wasn’t in the forest or anywhere you would expect that to happen.

And the good news is that she did just walk away with minor cuts from the windshield breaking and bruising from the seatbelt, the car was wrecked, but because she walked away from it is why she decided to buy a similar one. Just you know, in silver and one piece.

They do? I'm not sure if i've ever heard this. That's why they have insurance on the cars. That's why the state requires any automobile driven on the road to have insurance. Accidents happen. It wasn't done purposefully.
