Mitch Hedberg died
Mitch Hedberg died this week, allegedly of a heroine overdose.
Quote:
Tragically, Mitch Hedberg passed away this week. Mitch was a beloved member of the Comedy Central family, and we join fans in our sadness. He will be missed.

Re: Mitch Hedberg died
I don't think anyone can say it's unexpected, but still - a tremendous comic, probably my favorite right now. That's way too bad.

Well, I guess my boyfriend, his brother and I won't be seeing Mitch at the Funny Bone next week. I didn't know anything about him, but bf's brother loved him.
That is a sad way to die.

I saw him live last year at the DC Improv and I've liked him for a few years now. I still can't believe it. It's sad, devastating, and tragic...We'll miss you, Mitch.

On the radio they said they've told the family it was a heart attack, however those close to Mitch suspect it was a heroin overdose.

released this morning
Sounds like an OD - officially 'heart failure' that may or may not be related to a preexisting condition. You do the math.

When I was in college, a group of friends and I used to go to the Punchline whenever he came to town. My boyfriend and I like to listen to his comedy Cds on road trips too.
Some of my favorite Mitch Hedberg jokes:
"This shirt is dry clean only.... which means it's dirty."
"I can't wait to finish this set because I have a roll of lifesavers in my pocket and pineapple is next."
"Another name for a cheese grater is sponge-ruiner."
It was all in his delivery too. He will be missed...
