Red face Female medical question

Okay, I've been eating a lot of shredded wheat, seeds/nuts, and legumes lately to keep my iron levels up. Since then I've been having sore breasts and underarms. Is this common?

Are you cracking the nuts open under your arms?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Maybe it is doing something to your lymph-nodes? Maybe all the iron is causing you to be sore? When I drank alot of coca-cola way back when, my underarms would get so tender, my doc said it was from the caffine. Maybe your body has to adjust to the high surge of iron you are giving it?

Kudos to you on the iron rich diet.!I am anemic, so I need all the iron I can get. I take a vitamin with more iron than most vitamins. It keeps me energized (obviously).

If you continue with the soreness, I wouldn't hesitate to get it checked out. It could be something more serious!

All of those things you mentioned cause significant lectin damage. High intake of lectins causes toxicity in your body; your system could be trying to get rid of it. Foods with high lectins include grains (especially wheat), legumes (including soy and peanuts), dairy and nightshade (potato, tomato, eggplant and pepper).

Some people are very allergic to these items. Everyone (save a very, very small minority) has an intolerance to these foods because we don't have the enzymes to completely digest them.

I'd drink LOTS of water and if the discomfort still persists, I agree that you should get it checked out.
