SAEs at Ohio fight, lock door
Things got a little wild uptown late last week, judging by Athens Police reports.
On Friday, an officer responded around 1:30 a.m. to a fight call at 5 N. Court St., with a man reportedly unconscious. The victim, a Reynoldsburg man, told police he was assaulted by an unknown man. He was treated by emergency personnel.
Only minutes afterwards, according to reports, officers on patrol found a man lying on the sidewalk outside the Junction Bar on North Court Street. A bar employee told police the man had attacked another man inside the bar and had been ejected.
Both of the men allegedly involved in the fight were transported to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital with face and head injuries, the report says. No one was arrested.
Around 2:45 a.m. Friday, another report says, an Athens Police unit saw the last moments of a fight on the front lawn of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on East State Street.
Officers allegedly discovered that one man had been assaulted by six to eight other college-age males. The suspects all ran into the frat house and would not answer the door, the report said. Police did interview one fraternity member briefly.
The victim was taken to the emergency room, and police plan to continue investigating the incident, according to the report.
