Post Changing our call

EE-yip to all of my bluetiful sorhors out there. I had read on another forum (Collegeclub.com) that we are thinking of changing our call to something else because it sounds like the AKA's skee-wee. I was wondering if this was true or not.

Yours in bond

Hey soror, I also saw this on CC but I haven't heard anything else about it, I hope it isn't true because when our calls are done they don't sound anything alike, just my opinion.

Poodles,

I know this topic is generally Sigma business but I would like for you to consider this opinion. I don't know much about the historical development of a lot of things such as the calls, signals, etc but I personally don't think that you should change anything just because it maybe resembles that of another. To me the Sigma Call has the highest pitch and stands out above the rest. You all know the meaning of what it is when you do your call and you know when it was developed and for what reasons. If the call was to change do you think it would have the same meaning to you? (knowing the history that it may currently have). How do you think your founders would feel about this decision? Once again those are my personal opinions and I hope that no one has took what I've said the wrong way, but consider within yourself what the current call means to you. One Love, BLUE.

Ladies, I hope that we do not change our call. It does resemble that of a AKA, but it has a lot of meaning behind it. I agree with you Blue, what would our founders say if we changed our call. Sorors lets not forget, we are LAST CREATED BEST DESIGNED, and I think that includes our call.

Sorors and friend,

I am not exactly sure where you saw this information about changing the sorority call. I would like to see this information. A couple of things to consider. In most cases "calls" came about much later in the development of BGLOs. In most cases, founders would not be aware of these sounds and noises that we make to identify ourselves. We should know a Sigma by her class and poise and not only by EEE-YIPP. There is some private information I would like to share with Sorors about this matter. If you are interested, e-mail me at SDiva22@aol.com.

EEE-YIPP to all my Sorors!!
