A Sad Day in Sigma Land
Sorors, I'm not sure if you've heard the news, but I just got it off of the listserve.
Most Honorable Founder, Soror Vivian White Marbury, passed away today. This is a sad day for our organization. I'm still in shock as I write this. Please, post any info you may get on funeral plans, etc...
Once again I send a big SIGMA HUG OF COMFORT to all my sorors during this, our time of grief.
Sisterly Yours,
Soror Saunders

I would like to take this time to send prayers founding legacy, Vivian White Marbury's, family as well as much love to all the members and affiliates of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. As a non-member and someone who has never met the amazing Ms. Marbury I would like to say that I have been touched by her through each of you. I know she looks at this wonderful association she has created so long ago and smiles graciously upon each of you at the success of it today. I cannot express how much I wanted to have had the chance to meet her myself, and I can only imagine the thoughts going through some of your heads right now. I will keep each of you in my prayers-One Love, BLUE.

Thank you codeblu for those loving remarks
As I posted in the other forum room, although we weill undoubtedly miss her, we should sit back and realize she lived 100 years on this earth! An entire century! She saw three centuries in her lifetime and she helped biuld the foundation of this great sorority she lived a full and wonderful life. I think that God has heard us down here praising her for so long that he got a little curious and decided someone that special has to belong in heaven, so that's what he did and now our founding angel is with the LORD.
Also I have received an e-mail stating that we all go to work, school, etc. dressed completely in Blue and/or Gold and wear our official badge ( only with correct clothing) or a pin or a yellow tea rose on Tuesday (or continue it through the week) so that the world will know even with a small gesture like this one that she meant the world to us.

Even though I am not a member of this prestigious organization yet, I would like to express heartfelt sympathy and condolences in the loss of founder Vivan White Marbury.
As someone else mentioned in a previous post, I have never met her, or any of you, but I feel the warmth and sensitivity of this sisterhood, and I know that this is attributed to the contributions of Ms. Marbury.
My prayers are with Ms. Marbury's family and to all of you.
From your future soror,
Treyce Le. Criner "Tre"

Sorors, I wasnt to say that I love you all....our Founder/Soror's death is such a shock because we never expected nevertheless Sorors she is home with her father. Lets all take this time to redidicate ourselves to our organization and more that ever lets stop responding and or looking at all negativity that people have to say about our organization and work on making our lives and communities better because without this organization we would all still be working to make things better for all because we are all GODS children.

It saddened me to hear that our last living revered soror has passed on. The blessing of her life and what she gave us a founder in our sisterhood will live on in her memory and in each of us who is a member of the organization she founded so many years ago. May she and Lord continue to smile on all of us.

I stayed up last night and talked to a friend of mine who is not greek. He was really amazed by the way that I ws hurt and I had never even met our honorable founder. But the thing that I realized is that we have all met her.
We have all read so much about Sorhor Maurbury that we could right her autobiography (yes, I said auto).
We also have talked to her in our own ways. when we sit down and think of how wondeful our founders were/are and when we realize how important it is to follow thier legacies.
That is why we need to realize that she is still here. She is in the heart and soul of 80,000 plus women. She has molded and shaped her children so that she will never be forgotten. there is a tribute page sit up that I think you all would enjoy it is at http://www.pwrproductions.com/SigmaTribute.html
it is very beutiful

Ladies I am heartbroken, but I know she will live on through us. It is now up to us to make her proud, and smile down on us from her place in heaven. I feel like I have lost a member of my family, even though I never met her. My condolences go out to her family and all the proud members of Sigma Gamma Rho.
