Badges

Is there anyone who has an idea how our Badges evolved?

While I have many, I dont really know about the oddities of Our Badges whether it be by different Manufactures or others.

Ritual What and Why has a good description. But I'm sure you've already read that. The badge display at IHQ had some I'd never seen before, and I think I remeber some of them had stories behind them. Perhaps someone closer to IHQ has seem them more than me.

Amazing how The LXA Badge is constructed. Yepper, have read about Our Badge.

One of the Strangest I have ever seen is one owned by a Brother on GC. A very big diamond between the points of the Cresent.

Just oddities of course.

Rare Badges, ones with Opals. I have one and have seen only one other, a Brother from My Zeta who some might remember from G A, High Pi at UNLV.

Straight A Badge

One of the strangest badges I've seen has an "A" that leans to the right. The "X" is okay but the right-hand side of the "A" is straight up and down. It appears the monogram was cast separately then soldered into the inner circle of the crescent - not the way it's usually done. The "X" is okay; the Lambda is okay; the Delta Pi is okay; but the "A" is always crooked. The tendency is to keep rolling it back and forth in your fingers to get it to look right and you can't. It's weird. Manufacturer unknown. Definitely not Balfour, Pollack, or Masters of Design.

ZAX,
Jono

My personal favorite is the Iron Horseshoe. It is on display at IHQ. It's made from a silver dollar. I always thought our badge should be larger, but that's probably only because I'm an ogre.

Got initiated last semester:

8 pearls in the crescent...11 in the lambda...?

Don't remember what jewels, but I wouldn't mind a refresher course.

I know that was an easy one!

I have Badges with such stones in the Lambda that range from Pearls, Saphires, Garnets, Rubys, Diamonds, and Opals with combonations of stones.

Have both Yellow (Most Common) and White goldl.

One with curved convexed Lambda (Older).

C & C will show some each issue, but not nearly as many when were shown on web site.

You can order variations of stones for the Lambda, but Pearls only in the cresent. White gold is more expensive.

4 of my favorites:

1. White Gold with Saphires in Lambda. Mu original Badge.
2. White Gold, with 3 saphires, 8 diamonds.
3. Yellow gold, with emeralds and amythists, P G & G.
4. Yellow gold, with 3 rubys and 8 opals.

My badge

My badge has pearls in the Crescent, of course. The Lambda is set with diamonds, emeralds, and pearls.
