I don't like to double post, but I wanted to present the list first. I thought I know my movie quotes, but there were more than a couple that I had never heard before! It's interesting, though...

I watched it yesterday with my mom and I loved it. After watching it I've decided that I definitely need to see Casablanca. I was kinda surprised that "Luke, I am your father" didn't make it on there.

Another one I thought was gonna make it on there was "Don't stand too close to the glass, Clarisse." Also, I thought that "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" should have been a lot higher up on the list.

The more I read this list, the more I disagree with so many of them. I'm trying to keep in mind that MANY of these movies were made before I was even born, and the movies weren't classic - but I really thought that I'd know the Top Ten, at least!

As soon as we saw the commercials for it, my mom and I both knew that "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" was going to be #1.

Are there any that are not even on the nominee list that you thought should have been?


For some reason I feel "They're coming to get you, Barbara" from night of the living dead should have been on either list.

The movie quotes show reminded me of a drama project I did as an undergrad. My group and I recited lines from various movies with a mixed tape of instrumental music (all soundtrack). The music didn't always match up with the lines we were reciting though (except for "Luke, I am your father"...happened just as the Star Wars theme was playing...totally unplanned!).

I saw bits and pieces of this while watching the Piston's pre-game show, but once the game started, had to abandon it for some of the best basketball I've ever seen. I hope they re-air it. It looked very cool.

There is only one in the top 10 that I don't know and it's number 9. I can hear the original voices saying 90% of the quotes, but then, I'm an old lady

My boyfriend and I watched this last night and LOVED it. We were surprised at how many of the quotes we recognized!

I was disapointed that "Luke, I am your father." didn't make the list. I thought for sure that was going to be on there. At least one quote from Star Wars made it.

Now that I think about it, I thought that "It's a Wonderful Life" had made the list. That is disapointing also.

I thought they did a great job on compiling the list however. Definitely a great mix of old and new movies.
