Geneticists have concluded, after years of lab and field research that there was only one migration by modern humans out of Africa.
The DNA traces for this migration link back to aprox. 64,000 years ago; and speculation is that the migrants where a small hunter-gather band about 100 strong.
This of course leads to more questions... such as why did only one band migrate, or why was one only successful? While at the same time it is lending weight to some arguements about early lingustic origins, such as the Indo-European Root Language.
