The radio station KBFB-FM 97.9 The Beat will be on campus tonight at the Omega Psi Phi fraternity-sponsored basketball tournament in the Physical Education Building.
The tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $1. Teams in the tournament consist of players from Omega Psi Phi, other Greek organizations, and the radio station. Proceeds and donations will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Arlington.
Tyrone Walker, Omega Psi Phi fraternity member, said the fraternity is involved with the club through a mentoring program. He said fraternity members help children with their homework, play games and socialize with them two Saturdays each month.
“This event is an extension of our mentoring program,” said Walker, a mechanical engineering senior.
