One word: earthquakes.
We've had some crazy hail here too.

The weather is CRAZY in Happy Valley. It was snowing today. It's almost freaking May !!! Just earlier this week, I was laying on the HUB lawn tanning.
So glad I was in San Francisco this weekend and missed most of the cold and rain that came. Yahoo weather said that it was going to be cool and rainy in SF...it drizzled a little at night, but other than that, it was BEAUTIFUL .

Weather Forcasting is the only job on the planet that you could do and be wrong EVERY DAY and NOT get fired.

That's what my folks say too...
But, STL is near the New Madrid Fault, so having earthquakes here isn't out of the question.

Dionysus, true that, but how many people know about New Madrid Fault, the largest Quake in History!
Mississipi River ran backward.
That crappola Calif. fault aint shit.
This one goes folks, Memphis, Nashville, St. louis, Chicago, KC, New Orleans, and many points are OOPs!
Well, after the T last year, I dont feel bad, I was @ 2 miles from it and had frieds who lost Homes and all.
So, I guess Hail is the easist thing to put up with.
Give Me Ks/Mo.

CA might have its occasional earthquakes but when it comes to rain, you know so Cal doesnt see much of it when the weatherman called 2/100th of an inch of rain "a substantial amount" the other day. All I could think was you've got to be kidding me?!?

Tom, The New Madrid earthquake was so strong that not only did the Mississippi River flow backward, but the earthquake also created a HUGE lake called Reelfoot Lake.
We actually had an earthquake in TN last year. I thought our furnace had exploded. AND we have hail. It has hailed here TWICE this year alone...once last week. Our weather has been VERY odd. It has been in the high 70's and low 80's until this past Sunday morning when it SNOWED in some parts of our county....VERY odd for this time of year. I never remember it happening before.
