If they were Greek...........

in this thread, let's take some fictional characters and theorize what fraternity or sorority they would be a member of ( for one week then we change up characters )

I start with the following characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force:

1. Meatwad

2. Carl

3. MasterShake

4. Frylocke

I dont' know about Meatwad and Frylocke, but I think Shake would definitely be an Indie. I think his only "fraternity experience" was with those aliens that crashed their cruiser on the lawn and he really wanted to be one of them, but they wouldn't let him in. He was way too pushy about wanting to get in.

Carl would be the disgruntled advisor, fed up with the bureaucracy of the fraternity and leading the brothers astray into a world of complete debauchery. Have you seen his Adult Swim bumps? Yeah, he'd be all for shooting porn movies in the house.

I don't really get it, but that's okay.

I would just forewarn that i'm not sure how you'd guess which fraternity or sorority a cartoon character is in. (i think these are cartoons, right?). A word to the wise- stereotyping GLOs is a hot button topic around here and not much appreciated.

Sweet! I love that episode, and I watched it with a couple friends this week!

PS - The frat aliens are way cooler than the little triangle aliens who run around.

Frylock would be in the fraternity that the Greek Life office points to whenever they needed a positive, shining example of Greek life. He'd probably be in Order of Omega, too.

Meatwad is in the fraternity that can't pay its bills, has a run down house with couches on the front lawn, and always talks about throwing huge parties with lots of babes, but then ends up sitting around drinking beer and eating wings with the brothers.

Which is why I said Shake would be in a "fraternity" shown on the show, and just the position that Carl would have.

Yes in general, not a specific fraternity or sorority so as not to offend any members of a particular fraternity or sorority, unless the member of a particular fraternity or sorority wants to claim that fictional character.

Can't you just see what's going to happen? Some specific GLO will claim a specific character, and then twenty years from now GC posters (and even chapter websites) will be saying things like "Spongebob is an ABC" or "Velma from Scooby-Doo is a XYZ. " Sort of like groups claiming Betty Crocker.

....which is why people should be generic, as I was in my post.
