The rogue TKE chapter?

Hey Erik and other fraters,

When I was in college I remeber our prytanis remarking (and yes, he was sober at the time, smartasses) that out west - perhaps in california there was a renegade chapter that told nationals to ram it and started calling themselves Epsilon Kappa Tau.

Is this folklore or have you heard of it too?

ram it, bull puckey

I do not recall any rumor tradition or tale about any TKE chapter
disaffiliating with the club. TKE was a friendly outfit and put up with a lot. Only so-called "renegade" chapter in CA I can think of
is the San Diego State chapter, filled with pretty surfer-type pricks. But not even they were that hostile. Naw, think this was
a tale like those of the 19 year old housemothers, etc.
TKE was a pretty congenial outfit in my thoughts but alumni relations were not real good, HQ really dropped the ball in this
aspect. TKE was, and is, the Fraternity for Life. YITB, Erik
