Another what not to say...

When you see that a girl has shared her rush thread with us, and accepts a bid from a sorority different than yours....it is so NOT cool to say things like:

"Oh my gawd I so sorry cause you really wanted us and we dropped you. I'm so sorry. Cause you really wanted us and we dropped you."

That is just totally unnecessary.

No kidding. And I am not even going to continue to speak in generalities. I think that **** should delete her post- it's absolutely awful. Who SAYS that?

May I also add something else NOT to say? If a PNM chooses another house and your house wanted her, don't say something sarcastic like, "I hope you like that other house because we really wanted you!" I've seen ladies on Bid Day crying because the house that wanted them makes snide remarks about the house the PNM ended up in. It makes the PNM doubt their choice (which should never happen!) and makes the sorority girl in question look bad.

I see it happen all too often and it breaks my heart...

I think am aware of whom you are speaking and (even though it is difficult) I am going to take up for her. (she has edited her remarks) I really don't think she meant that post the way it seemed. I know, I know, it sounds awful, but, and I am sure you know what I mean, her post was (I assume) meant as a positive not a negative.

I apologize for her, because, again I don't think she was aware of how it "came off." All I can do, is hope that the new XYZ member realizes that it was a bad mistake and look over what she said, to see what she meant.

Everyone makes mistakes. It does not matter who edited the post, but that it WAS edited. I am sure that she realizes that what she said was inappropriate, and we all now realize that it is never something that should be said, but can we please refrain from the thinly veiled rudeness about the poster? I find it completely unnecessary. Can we please keep the comments about the post, and not the poster?
