Lightbulb Changes at IHQ

For those dont Keep Up on it, Kip Zurcher is now officialy gone and a New Brother Has, is taking over.

Kip Will Be Missed.

But there are many other changes that are coming very soon.

While I cannot say where I got This Info, it hopefully will be posted very soon.

We as Alums and Brothers should be privy to the information as Alums actually are the Back Bone of LXA!

It seems funny, that Our Once Patriarc was The One that did away With The Alum Advisory Board as We were not important enough, It has come full circle. Yes, Alums are very Important.

Now, I just wonder how many great Programs were tried and left along the wayside for the benefit of an Inividual and We As LXA Brothers Missed it.

There was a Program that Was Tried called The Penn Int.

Penn. was in trouble and a Group from IHQ was sent there and did a fantstic job. It worked. They Recruited to help a Major Zeta Out. I will not say that They are more Important Than Mine.

Now, My Question is, Do We as An International worry about Expansion or the Chapters that We Have who are having Problems.

Mine is and I have contacted IHQ Many Times. I have Talked with Other Brothers about this.

So What is Your Thought?

Do We As LXA Let Troubled Chapters go by the wayside or try to help them be viable.

Oh Yes, there is a big difference in Cost of New Colonization or working with Existing Zetas.

Just Some Input on this thought.

My opinion is we should be helping struggling chapters.

I think it can be simple Darwinism and evolution. The weak or old will eventually die off and new chapters will be tested to see if they are strong enough to survive. When the old, long standing chapters die off, and each and every one will eventually at some point in time, it's a matter of HQ to start the evolution process to restart it into something that works.

Then down the road some 50 or 75 years, it will die off again and HQ will be responsible for the evolution.

If a chapter is weak or not doing well, sometimes it is better to let it die off and re-establish it later on. Sometimes it is just too difficult to make a chapter change, other times it is not. Sometimes it is the university or college that changes and the environment around the frat that changes. In that case there is little anyone can do, do you let the species die out and start a new species or try to nurse it back to health?

Question

So, let us not be Our Brothers Brother?

There are many reasons for Zetas to die and be kicked to the curb.

It has been seen many times where Zetas have run into problems, depending on the situation. So, when do the strings be cut with out some extra help? Having an ELC visit isnt the total answer is it.

But as a Brother and I discussed yesterday, We as LXA are more below below Strength than we were sevearl years ago.

Expansion alone is not the cure. We as a Fraternity must keep Zetas viable to keep our strength as a International Greek Organization.

Futher IHQ updates.

Brother John Otten has left IHQ as Director of Expansion. He has been replaced and a name change in the position.

Check LXA HQ web site to see who is on first.

I really think it is about time to place an announcement on the Web Site of all of the changes or a letter to Members with an explanation of changes with who is doing what and a bio about them.

So, with all these changes, is it good or bad? Is everyone abandoning ship seeing the storm on the horizon?

Tom,

take a deep breath, dont get so damn worked up about HQ, it is an office in Indiana. Take the energy you are taking worrying about their internal office workings and put them into fundraising for your chapter or helping out with the Pitt State House or Pitt State Rush.

Jason, I am not getting so overly worked up about Changes.

I just think it would be very nice if We as Members were informed about changes in a timely manner.

For Your edification, I am a Life Member of LXA.

Yes, I have sent money to IHQ and have spent a lot of Money for My Zeta.

Changes at IHQ are always on going.

Kip and John have done a tremendous job of leading LXA. But as We know, IHQ is just like a typical Zeta, Change must come.

It is a boiler cooker for sure, and everyone needs a break.

New pursuits keep all of us fresh and growing.
