Successful Chapter Programs

SIGMAtization: An Evening of Spoken Word, Song, and Dance
we sponsored this event during Founders Week. We even had a couple of artists with cd's out as well as talented local groups and students perform. We served appetizers and had tables with candles. We collected $ for the Robin Hood Foundation. It was Blue ti ful

Black Roses: A Tribute to Black Men
This is a signature Kappa Nu program, in which we honor Black men who have made a significant impact in the community. IT with the 11th celebration of this notable awards ceremony. We honored a local politician, an Urban League president, a local pastor, a student, and president of black nurses association. We presented the recipients with certificates, black roses, and gifts. We served an eleganct soul food dinner. We were serenaded by inspirational music such as one soror's rendition of Angie Stone's "Brotha" and my sister's "Wind Beneath My Wings" It was an excellent turnout. I can't wait til next February!

An Evening of Bluetiful Elegance: Sigma Beauty Night
We had a Mary Kay consultant come in and do make overs and teach us beauty and health tips. It was fun to be pampered and beautiful at the same time. We did this during our most recent Sigma Week.

Basketball Bachelor Bid - fundraiser
Xi Rho auctioned off the male basketball team for charity. The men auctioned were are very popular on campus (for obvious reasons) so it draws a large crowd and lots of bids (no one wants their friend to go cheap). Also it was a good way to pump up the squad before the season got started, so the athletic department was very helpful and supportive.

Teacher Appreciation Banquet
its an awards cermony to honor the faculty and staff on campus. since our founders were educators it only seems right to pay tribute to those that have dedicated their lives to teaching us

Undergraduate Sorhors,

You ladies are presenting some informative programs! I always remember my chapter (Theta Omicron) in the late 80s and 90s presenting the resume and cover letter writing workshops as well as "from Backpack to Briefcase."

You ladies are taking the programs to the next level! Great job sorhors!

you've got to bend your back.....

well the undergrads in augusta were very busy this year. one program that went very well was the breast cancer awareness month.

sorors passed out many educational documents. they held a seminar featuring speakers from the american cancer society and they even baked cupcakes and decorated them with little pink ribbons to pass out during lunch time.

Founder's Day

November is right around the corner ladies! If anyone has ideas/traditions/programs that work well, let's share them. Or if you just want to brag, you can do that too!

kudos to my babies in Kappa Nu!!! Our annual Sigmatization, which this year was a collab'd event called Floetic, was off the chain, the place was paaaaacked. It was a night with spoken word, dance, and song. i was so proud of them and of course happy to come as alumnae

they also did a second annual halloween party this past weekend for a local homeless women's shelter we work with regularly.

new pictures should be up soon on the web site. as of now you can see photos from the last few years' events.

Looking forward to the upcoming Founders Week festivities we shall be celebrating (my undergrad and alumnae and local sister chapters)

EEE YIP!

This sounds like an interesting program. Where there any men in attendance? I would be interested to see a fraternity host such an event...

Greek Scene was a great event this spring.

It is our annual step show we called it I remember way back When,
We did a playground scene we were so cuuute!!!! We not only sold out but had to give money back because of the turn out.

Annual Black Women's Health Symposium
We had workshops on womens health, spirituality, skin care, massage therapy, and free HIV testing. It was a great turnout and a very informative event.

Another program that I enjoyed was thrown by Zetas. They held a panel discussion about why Greeks and non Greeks don't get along. Why Greeks dont get along. My favorite question was, "If you were a lame before you pledged once you have greek letters are you still a lame?"

Our self defense workshop went well. Everyone got a chance to be the attacker, and to defend themselves. We had instructors from a local martial arts school come to a local park and help us out. We did so much kicking and punching it was a work out! And we all feel a little safer, knowing how to protect ourselves when we're out alone.

I'm glad to hear that. I'm sorry I couldn't make it.
