Lightbulb Problems between BGLO.

Can anyone experienced animosity among BGLO on your campus? I know that on my campus the BGLO's especially the sororities do not get along. On our campus it goes beyond letters and colors. It really has to do with the way you came into greekdom. To be more specific, what do you think about paper vs. pledged?? On my campus this factor is a huge one. This is why the hatred is there.

Just briefly -- the BGLO relationships on my campus really depended on who was in the organization at the time. My sorors did not get along with the deltas for years, but when a couple of their problem children left things got better. A lot of my sorors dated kappas and could not get along with the alphas. my boyfriend (an omega) and i were both presidents of our chapters around the same time, so we coordinated a lot of events between us, so our chapters were seen as having a close relationship with each other and that kind of ticked the alphas and deltas off. but we didn't care because we still had much love for alphas elsewhere and them for us and the same went for the ques and deltas. now i will say this, there always seems to be a lot of hating on us AKAs. i suppose jealousy is a bitch. :-)
(please excuse the bad grammar and poor punctuation -- i teach communications at the local university so i know better, but i am too sleepy to care at the moment) ONE LOVE.

Cool

Some Greek rivalries are rooted in the historic discrimination that blacks have oppressed themselves with (i.e. you can only be one of us ivy chicks if you have light skin and long hair). Others have been the result of the closed mindedness and insecurities of individual members.

As far as the paper vs. pledging debate, some people maintain that the true path to finer woman and manhood lies with a beatdown and staying up all night. A few people get killed, who cares, right?

Eventually most people grow up and see the error of their ways.
