Help w/ Little Bro

Hey all!

I am a TKE at the Nu Chapter in Cal Berkeley and I need some help. We recently decided to start back up our big bro program but we really dont know what to do with it. I have a little brother and I really want to make his experience in the program a good one. I want it to be more than just having him drink with me.

Could you all tell me some things that made your time with your big/little bro a good experience, things to avoid, or just things you think would be a good idea.

I really appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance,

Caleb

take him to baseball games, hang out, when you do drink with him go to nice bars to do it, go out to eat, things like that generally work out well

Thumbs up

Good Advice Sir Toad!!!!!!!

As a big Brother, You are His Mentor. Being a Mentor is advising Him in any and all situations. You are His protector and confessor.

While I had no little Bro. to this day, I am still doing what you just asked along with many of us!

My job as a big sister is to be there for my pledge. I also am in charge of making sure she is progressing in her knowledge of our organization. I have to review her pledge tests with her. But we also do fun stuff...coffee, dinner, etc. I also get to pass stuff down to her (my shirts, cat gifts, etc.). Most importantly, we are in charge of forming her allegiance to our sorority.

There are many things that you could do with your Little Bro. One of the most important things you could do for you Little is to be there when he needs it. Give him advice with different stuff and be supportive.

My job as a Big Sister is to help my little get to know more about the chapter and make sure that she knows what is going on within the chapter. Also my job was to get my Little her first pair of stitches.

yea, it took me 4 years to get a lil bro, and my big bro left the semester after i pledged, so it kinda sucked seeing a few of the other lineages who were really close and did alot of stuff together all the time, so now that i have my lil i'm really making an effort to hang out with him and get the trend started for us so that when we get another lil and another lil we can all try and be close and such haha

it's really interesting because my big sis and I are sharing a pledge! Our lineage and family trees are so screwed up! haha.

Just be his friend. Watch out for him. If he's not at a meeting, call him when you get back and ask him if he's doing ok. Bring him to parties with you if he doesn't have anything planned that evening. Be his guide.
