Everything I need to know, I learned in Kindergarten
Can you think of any little things that were ingrained in you when you were little that stuck with you? like safety rules or just anything meant for little kids that followed you into adulthood?
examples: I was told things like "never put a plastic bag over your head" and "never put your fingers near an electrical socket" It took me forever to accept the fact that its not actually the act of putting the bag on your head that would suffocate you, and although I know that, should i choose to for some weird reason, I would be able to handle it without dying, I will never ever put a plastic bag over my face! I also get squeamish about sockets, as if the electricity is going to shoot out at me. And I STILL feel guilty if I ever lick a knife after making PB&J, despite the fact that my motor skills are quite mature at this point and I am confident I wont slice open my tongue.
Does anyone else have any better examples??

How about the general one of looking both ways before crossing the street. I see many people who just walk out without looking and I just want to yell at them.
Also the please and thank you rule, how hard is it to be polite, I'm pretty sure I learned that way back when I was young, yet so many people forget these very simple words.

Always hold the blade of scissors and hand the other person the handles. I also learned in Kindergarten that I like 80's Madonna

The sharing rule stuck with me. Whenever I go into my purse for a piece of gum, I feel rude if I don't ask others around me if they want a piece...same goes for pretzels out of the vending machine. I won't share make up even with my best friends though. I think that's gross.

While "everything I needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten" is always a nice thought, it better not really be true for anyone!

Don't let ANYONE touch your privates. If someone does, tell an adult!
