How do they know

I really want to pledge Delta but I don't know how to go about it I was wondering how do I get to know the Deltas on my campus. A friend of mine who is an AKA told me that they know that I have a legacy. I was wondering how they knew that, I haven't even told my roommates and they want to pledge too.
