Feb 14th

Yup, V-Day is coming up. I am totally clueless on what I want to get the boy. At that point we will be dating 8 months (I still can't believe it). His birthday is the end of Feb, and I don't want to do the same thing for both.

I know I want to get him one of the TY V-Day bears, but besides from that, I have no idea. Any suggestions?

Why don't you get something for yourself at Victoria's Secret? It's like its for him but its really for you.

This only works if you don't live with your parents or with roommates who will be home...

However, VS is for skinny girls, which I am not.

Hey-I'm not skinny either & I find cute things from VS all the time. If you don't feel comfortable there try Cacique or Lane Bryant. Better yet-take him along with you & let him pick it out.

No seriously, never get a man a teddy bear. Not even if he does have the rainbow on his car and kisses boys. Cause thats gayer than kissing boys. Seriously, I know a few super uber gay dudes and they wouldnt do that. The first thing he'll wanna do with it is trash it. Cause its stupid. If he was a 12 year old girl, JACKPOT, but hes not. Its one more thing on his bed or on the floor that hes gotta move around and make sure to put out when you come over or fear pissing you off.

You really wanna give a gift thats got all that crap drama involved? He'll hate ya for it. I PROMISE. I would.

Some day women will stop thinking of men from their perspective and elevate themselves to a higher plain and finally understand men.

When that day happens, about 97% of the question threads in the dating and relationship forums on GC will cease.

Us guys are stupid. Ya'll make isht about 100X harder than what it needs to be. Seriously. Its not rocket science.

I wouldn't say "higher plane", but I would agree that men think on a different plane than women (in some matters). Once people understand that there really IS a difference between how the sexes think, there will be less confusion.

That said, stereotyping either sex is a sure way to end up not understanding anyone!

This post is a serious burst of intellegence and wisdom. Y'all need to memorize it and refer to it frequently.

Whats odd about it is this: Men seek to please womenromantically by doing something men know women find romantic..

Women seek to please men romantically by doing something that women know other women find romantic . . . .

Thats a sublte but importat difference. You might want to read those convoluted statements a couple times.

In other words, your boy shouldn't be giving you tools, a car part, or sports tickets on V-day and likewise you shouldn't be given him photo collages, teddy bears, or flowers.

Women do get selfish when it comes to gifts in a relationship. Somehow they have to enjoy it too, otherwise it's a "stupid" gift idea. Do him a favor and don't subject him to the tortures of V-Day. He'll never let you go...

LOL, if you lived in Lexington I could think of a few different stores you could try but they aren't chain stores so I'm not too sure what to recommend. Seriously though-try Lane Bryant or the lingerie dept. of any store-sometimes they aren't that disappointing.
