To anyone who has the time to help me,
I am interested in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. My College is very small so we don't have a greek affairs office but there is currently an undergrad member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at my school. I have spoken to her as much as possible about pledging and learning about her as much as I can. I also have attended many events at the bigger colleges and universities near by to meet some of the other Delta's. As I meet new Delta's when I get home I try to write down as much info (about themselves or the sorority) as possible from the conversations i have had with them at events. I feel like I'm not doing enough to make my presence known because when I see Delta's outside of there events I feel like they don't recognize me.
I have bought and read Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. "In Search of Sisterhood," The Divine Nine and Black Greek 101 to get as much info as possible. I have also visited and printed info from the official Delta website, the local chapter website and other chapter websites from around the U.S.
I don't know If I am going to try to pledge this year because I am not financial prepared. From the research I have done, I have learned that It's not good enough to be financially set for the process you go through to become a Delta but to also be able to pay yoyur dues after your process is over. As of right now I am not prepared to pay my dues after my process is over. I will continue to attend Delta events for the rest of this year If i don't pledge because I figured I will have a head start for next year.
My question to who the person/people who have the time to answer it is:
1)What other books do you recommed I read?
2)Do you have any advice that can help me out as I go through the process of getting info and meeting new Delta's?
P.S Sorry for such a long message it's my 1st time on here and I didn't want to annoy anyone with posting message after message. I am also sorry if a message like this has been posted already. I didn't see one.
Thank you for your time, patience, understanding and advice if you choose to leave any.
I do understand if no one replies to this message because it is not to far from questions about pledging.
