LSU Rush recommendation

Hello Pi Phis,

My daughter is going through LSU rush this fall as a freshman. My question is whether the Pi Phis require a recommendation from the rushee's home town, or will a recommendation from a Pi Phi elsewhere suffice?

Also, I heard that rushees at some schools "promote" themselves with posters. What's this about!?! I appreciate any advice that would help my daughter.

Any recommendation will do although some schools with competative systems value local recommendations more. As for the promotion part, I think it depends on the campus. Maybe someone from LSU can let you know "how things are done" there to give you a better idea. Best of luck to your daughter!

A recommendation is a recommendation. If the writer knows your daughter, it wouldn't matter whether it came from her home town. I've never heard of potential new members promoting themselves with a poster. Many *chapters* make posters with names and pictures of women that they have received recommendations. This is to assist chapter members to learn names but the only responsibility of the PNM is to have a good picture of themselves with the reference letter.
