Okay, I am out of school, working and have to do my taxes. I have 4 forms to deal with- 2 w-2's from the two jobs I have had this year and two 1098-e's from my two student loans.
do them online its super easy and they do all the calculations and whatnot for you.
also..i don't know how many people know about this, but they passed a new tax act that anyone who made under a certain amount of $$ can file online for free..go to www.irs.gov for details
Step one: Take a deeeeeep breath.
Step two: Go to Target or wherever and buy you a copy of Turbo Tax. It's around 20 bucks and seriously you can be done w/ your fed taxes in around 30-45 minutes. Sooo easy and you file it online. State taxes may or may not be easier to do online. I e-filed my feds but mailed my state. Just get all your stuff organized fix you a cup of tea or coffee and get to work! It's no biggie! Thanks xok85xo! I qualify for the free service. I did it in less than an hour and am getting back $935. I still have to submit a signature and am not quite sure how that works but I will figure it out. I should get the money in about 2 weeks.
bumping because i just finished my taxes online, and it was free. the catch is that you have to go through the irs.gov website and then click into turbo tax to get the free service. hopefully i get my check within the next 2 weeks so i can blow it off .
