Interchapter relations

In my bi-state area, there's at least 10 different chapters of my organization. We see them several times a year at sectional, regional, and national conferences/conventions. Sometimes we also have random social events and service projects with each other. Most of us mix well, but there's about three of them we (and other chapters) don't mix well with. There hasn't been any rivalries or anything, but some of us just feel that they don't like us. For what reason? I don't know why. Is this a common thing in fraternities/sororities? Is there anything we can do?

There's a chapter in my region that I don't think really cares for my chapter. I mean we're sisters, and I've met lots of great women from this chapter, but our chapters are just very different. I think it's common, I mean chapters get different types of people, so they take on different types of personalities. Just like different orgs chapters at the same school.

Red face

This is sad to hear.

Most and I say Most Chapters that I have visited have been very friendly.

I have attended two Regional Confrences and one General Assembly and the electricity meeting My Brothers from all over the country was fantastic.

I know it was funny when I did some of the things with the younger guys and all of a sudden I was just one of them. Or when I had some of the Head Honzos talkiing with me alot and many of the younger guys wondering who the hell I am?

Yes, I did wear a 3 color listing on my ID but, to me it was embaressing. I was just a Brother of a Greek Organization and that was it.

While attending these meetings, I did not find a big difference between Big Schools or Small, We were All there to learn, Meet, and Greet.

Remember one thing, it is not you, it is them who do not feel what your Sisterhood Professes. Be you and only You!

We have two other chapters within the state. One of which (lucky us) is only about a ten minute drive down the road. We always have a massive Christmas sisterhood. It's a lot of fun. We get along with them really well. We have not done anything with the other chapter that I know of (or if we have it's been a while).... probably just because they are on the other end of the state. From what I have heard they do a lot more with the Wisconsin chapters. The ones I have met from there (only two) have been awesome women though. Very friendly. I even worked with one this summer at Valleyfair. I saw a sticker of our crest on a random car in the employee parking lot then made a mission to track down my sister from another chapter. It was an interesting process since Valleyfair has some 1500 employees. She was a really nice girl. I haven't gotten to talk to her much since we have gone back to school.

I know some other girls from my chapter went down south over break and visited a bunch of chapters. I heard that they all were very warm and welcoming.

There are two chapters here in my region that are 8 miles apart and as different as night and day. They don't even celebrate Founders Day together. It's just the personalities. UPS and UW are only about an hour apart but they are also very different and have never done anything together either.

I think the school rivalies might have an impact too........
