My fav. thing is what happens around our house. Although I am Jewish, my parents do the presents-only-meaning-of-christmas type Christmas. They decorate and we have presents... and pray for snow since we don't get much! My husband and I do channukah at our house, but it is special for us.
Pre holidays... We wrap presents for the family buisness' holiday party and a good client of my dad's holiday party. We buy tons of toys and donate a shipping container (full) every year. The shopping is so much fun. Next year, we may take a family friend (who is 8) and have her help and let her pick one toy for helping. A great opportunity to show her about giving. We are also talking about adopting a family next year. I use December more as my kickoff to yearly giving. And although I make my foundation donations throughout the year instead of at this time of year, I do plan and think about how much I will give.
I don't know about you guys, but this is the kick off to four crazy months for me... channukah, christmas, new years, our (dating) anniversary, valentines, his birthday... I swear I go in debt just thinking about it!
