Tracy Bond
I received this email from Amy Brooks, my collegiate chapter advisor....who got it from Patti Simmons.
I just got off the phone with Kim Golden Benner. Tracy Bond was sick last week with what they thought was the intestinal virus, suffering from dehydration. She was in and out of the hospital last week for dehydration.
Saturday, she spent the day with Kim and the women from Moravian doing their big philanthropy where they collected donations ($8,500) and put together holiday gift bags. She was feeling fine on Saturday and even ate a bit.
Today, she was taken to the hospital (St. Luke's in Allentown), where they have found a mass in her stomach, near the small intestines. They are not sure about the mass and she is currently undergoing emergency stomach surgery (8:30 pm). She is very concerned, as her mother died from stomach cancer. Her bother is with her.
Please keep Tracy in your prayers and ask other AST sisters to do the same.
I will follow up with you as soon as I hear anything tomorrow.
Tau love,
Patti

Here's an update
I received this email this morning about Tracy...
(Email from Kim Golden Benner to Patti Simmons.)
Hi Patti,
I just got back from the hospital. Tracy's in St. Luke's, Allentown, and is currently in ICU Room #7. She has no restrictions on visitors, although she can not receive flowers in ICU. She hopes to be moved from ICU tonight.
The prognosis so far -- the doctor's removed the mass and part of her small intestine last night. They also took her appendix, which didn't look healthy either. They did find cysts on both of her ovaries, but they're leaving that alone for now. The mass they removed was soft (not hard like a tumor) and has been sent out for biopsy -- it'll take 4-5 days for the results. So, she should know more on Friday or Monday (at the latest). She is on bed restriction (not out of bed for any reason) for the next 4-5 days. She'll have a recovery of 4-6 weeks. She's thinking positively and even joked that they should have done a tummy tuck while they were in there.
Her brother Bill was with her yesterday and brother Brian is flying up from Atlanta on Friday (he was already scheduled to come to Allentown for work this weekend). She doesn't mind any company and anyone can come in to visit her. I'm going to try to get back tomorrow and/or Thursday. Anyone that might be able to stop by -- she'd love it!
As soon as I have a room number for her, I'll let you know -- in case, National wants to send flowers.
That's it for now,
Kim
BTW: Keep positive thoughts for Tracy. She's a chapter sister of mine.

I don't know Tracy, but I will pray for her too. Thank you for keeping us posted. Prayers and lots of love to her for a speedy recovery.
