You don't need any type of permission from EO, you just need someone to organize it! Most of the time it is done through the alumnae. In TX there is a TX State Alumnae Association, and State Convention is basically their only meeting each year (besides the officers who meet a couple times a year). In Oklahoma it is the same way- the OK State Alumnae Association sponsors State Day. I think (?) TN also has state convention and I'm sure there are others but it is becoming less popular than it used to be.
In TX, they have different workshops to attend, Gift Mart and usually other vendors also, along with an official meeting and a nice luncheon and a more formal dinner. They also do Jewell Degree. I am guessing Tabbi*Girl's chapter is probably performing at the luncheon. At dinner they give out a lot of state awards and maybe some scholarships also. That's all I can remember but I'm sure there's more that I'm missing.
In OK they also have several state awards they give out and a nice luncheon where the collegians provide some type of entertainment. There is also an official meeting. I've only gone to one State Day in OK so I'm less familiar with their traditions.
I thnk it's a great chance for alumnae across the state to see each other and help promote ADPi within their state.
