Delta auxillary group

Hi again everyone. I have another question .

Are there any little sister groups for Delta(ie Zeta-archonettes)?

If soooo I would love to be apart(I'm in NC) and do the undergrad members of Delta Sigma Theta mentor young high school ladies?

IM REALLY INTERESTED IN DELTA AND COLLEGE. I hope to go to Howard university or UWG.

I don't know how old you are so here are two links:

http://www.deltasigmatheta.org/inside.php?id=0305PD

http://www.deltasigmatheta.org/inside.php?id=0305PDG

Locate the nearest alumnae chapter and see how they are implementing the Delta Academy or the Delta GEMS (depending on your age). Also ask if the alumnae chapter is sponsoring a Jabberwock and if you are eligible to participate. They can also tell you about whether there are some collegiate chapters that mentor young girls.

These are good mentoring opportunities that aren't like "future Delta" or "mini-Delta" programs. So if you're looking to act like you're in a sorority or automatically be a Delta when you get to college, you will be sadly mistaken.

Best of luck and stay on the right track with your personal, scholastic, and service-oriented life.

Thanx for the links!

I'll be sure to look into both of them. I understand that they are not "mini-deltas". I just really wanted to get closer to some members and particiapte in more community service projects(I know I'll find some of them with Delta )

I think the mentoring will be an empowerment for me personally whether its with a grad member or an undergrad member

!!!!!!!!!!!! THANX A MILLION TONS MORE !!!!!!!!!!

(by the way______I'm 15)

Thanks Soror Chaos for the information for our young lady here. I hope you are near a chapter with Delta GEMS. I think you will enjoy it/benefit from being a part of it. It is not a Delta Get in Free card, of course, but you will gain a better, more tangible appreciation of DST.

Also once you turn 16 and are zipping around Your City, North Carolina, you can also help out Habitat for Humanity with building a house.

I didn't mean anything by the smilie. I apologize if you thought I did.

I actually thought the smilie was thinking about something. I used it because I was thinking about how much members of Delta are always out in the community.

I think you should do some community service projects on your own, you don't need to be an "auxiliary" to do that. I can appreciate the need to belong and of course DST is agreat organization to admire, but be you first. Delta Sigma Theta doesn't need any more cookie-cutter women coming in to the organization. Go out there and be a part of helping the community in areas you enjoy and are good at, that way you will particiapte in for life, regardless or not if you beceome a Delta.

These are the kinds of women you should strive to be, one that didn't wait to join something to start doing something. Let your heart guide you...
