Question Vitilago

Does anyone have or know anything about vitilago? It's some sort of disease where your skin turns white. There have been cases where people have turned completely white, but in my case, I only have 2 little spots. I haven't been checked out by a doctor, but it is vitilago because my mom and half bro have it also. They only have a few spots though. I was wondering if there were any tests that can be run to see if there are any other things that could be wrong with me or ways to fix it?

Any info would be helpful.

Our Filipino and Vietnamese daughters get vitiligo every winter. Sometimes it fades away without a prescription but generally, we depend on an ointment we get from a dermatologist that works pretty quickly.

Down in the nether regions...

It hasn't gone away. I had one spot that was found like a year ago and then a few months ago another one showed up. they're both about an inch or less big. My mom is Filipino (I'm half caucasian and half Filipino), so is that a factor or something?

We were told that darker-skinned people tend to get it more. My husband just told me that actually, any fungicidal ointment works on his. His is on his back and the girls have it on their faces.

It's not that dark skinned people get it more, it's just that its more noticable if you have darker skin. Anyone can get it and there are a variety of factors that can cause it to develop. And I would check with a doctor first because not all white spots or loss of melanin means vitiligo.

Isn't this what Michael Jackson claimed caused his skin to be lighter?
