wow, that seems really cheap! Although I bought mine a couple years back for about 175 so I guess it would make sense that it's dropped in price. I say go for it!
I'm not a DVD expert but I think it can be risky to try out those lower end players. Sometimes they can't handle DVDs and will freeze or skip around or not recognize the discs.
I have a JVC that cost around $120 and it works okay. But a friend bought a really cheap one and regularly cannot watch but half of movies because they start freezing. She is constantly frustrated by the NO DISC message when there is a disc in there!
Maybe there is something else wrong with her particular player but this is what I have heard.
it says it's a memorex-usually a lot more $$-glad to see the prices are pretty reasonable on them. I can buy it online too and have them send it to me for free, which would keep me from having to get stuck in the crowds-pretty tempting.
I recently bought one of Samsung's lower end offerings, the P241, for $59 (i've seen it as low as $49, though)...great player, progressive scan as it should be, no problems at all...Samsung brand name to back it up. Only thing i've found 'low-end' on it is the remote...a cheap plastic thing.
