Thumbs down AL SHARPTON

have y'all heard this mess about al sharpton telling fox news that he wants to become the most influential black person and saying that Jesse smeared Martin Luther King's blood on his clothers when he died.

he denies it now, but fox news is sticking to the story like glue. I think he said it!

I'll say THIS. If Al Sharpton intends on TRYING to become the most influential African-American, then he has GOT to do something with that HAIR!!!!! It's played out!!!

Now I KNOW that Big Al don't this is going to happen----not in THIS lifetime.

Enough said!!!!!

Well, he can't be saying stuff like that if he wants to run for President (yes, of the United States!) I was ROFL when I heard that! Didn't he try unsuccessfully for a congressional seat before??

Question

I do think that we should chose who WE want to be our "leader"---or if we do not want a "leader" at all. White Americans shouldn't chose our "leader"...and the "leaders" should not chose themselves. If we do not want Al to be our voice, then he won't be...no matter how badly he wants to be the most influential whatever.
I am personally tired of so-called "leaders" who do nothing more than scream and run around like circus clowns. It makes our people look like we do nothing but yell---and do not take enough action. Within our community, there is a diversity of opinions and beliefs...so we do not need just ONE voice for our community.
I don't take Wierd Al too seriously...I look at him with the same scrutiny that I view both Democratic and Republican parties with. He is a product of bipartisan bureaucratic ridiculousness just as they are. I'm off my soap box

The Jesse/blood story is actually old news... the Rev. Hosea Williams (RIP) said the same thing, or something similar years ago. Also, Jesse was the first from King's inner circle that went on the media after King's asassination. As a matter of fact, he still had on the bloody disheki (sp?) when he went on (I think) the Today show the next morning and discussed his "place" in the movement now that King was dead.

I ain't even gonna speak on ol' AL! But I do believe that we need some "Als" in the world just to shake things up....
