It's absolutely ridiculous.
I think one major problem with Hollywood is that now, more than ever, there are a lot more C-list stars. There are still excellent people who rose through the ranks, got formal training, or otherwise just busted their hump to earn their fame: Tom Hanks, Ron Howard, you name it. They kept their noses clean and made wise decisions about their roles.
But then you have "notorious" and "infamous" celebrities now.....celebs behaving badly. For example, Anna Nicole was (and is) a nobody....she was a a poor southern girl who became a model and B-movie actress. THEN she married a 300 year old billionaire. Now how in the H-E-double-hockey-sticks does that qualify her to get a reality show and present at the AMA's?
And another thing...REALITY SHOWS. It makes no sense how damn near everybody on reality TV does it as a launch pad for an acting career....and it never works!
Hollywood's old guard needs to do what it can to keep people like the Hiltons, Smiths, and anybody related to a Mark Burnett or Bunim-Murray production off the red carpet.
Except Melissa Howard, I love her!
