How to motivate sisters

Hey everyone!

I tried doing a search for motivation, motivating sisters, and the like and didn't find so I hope you all can help me.

I'm one half of a partnership our recruitment chair put together to keep morale up during rush. My partner and I are brainstorming ideas to keep sisters motivated during recruitment.

One of the ideas I had was to do a dance off contest between parties where I would play some crazy songs for like 30 sec, and everyone eliminates a dancer, then whoever wins at the end of the night gets like dinner out of the house that night or something.

I was also thinking paper plate awards would be good. I was also think of doing like an "I Spy" type thing, by making a list of things to look out for during conversations, like "find someone from the south" (very unusual at my school, I think I know every southerner here it seems heh)

Does anyone have good ideas to keep morale up? I figure this might be a good thread for any girls on the other side who might be gearing up for deferred recruitment

keeping up morale

1) Type in "spirit" under the search thread. You'll find lots of motivational tips

2) Adopt a PNM. Each member "adopts" a PNM profile from the list of rush applications-- your rush crush on paper. The sister makes a poster about the girl and her accomplishments and maybe a cute mnenomic about her. During down time, sisters take out their posters for a show and tell about their "baby"-- this will help members recognize things about PNM's of interest

3) Teach songs

4) Sit indian style on the floor and pass around a stuffed animal that symbolizes your mascot. Each person takes a turn holding the mascot to share a sisterhood story, emotion, thank you, etc.

5) Talking behind your back. Cut out construction paper hearts and tape them one to a person on the back. Everyone will go around writing messages on the hearts-- great sisterhood souvenir!

6) Group massage. Sitting in circle, massage the person in front of you.

7) When calling roll, instead of responding here, the spirit person will announce you need to instead shout... your favorite color, your hometown, favorite fraternity, etc...

8) Award little awards to people for going above and beyond to keep them motivated.

etc... look at books of ice breaker games for more ideas for spirit breaks. Keep it simple-- complicated activities frustrate people.
