Question Your little sisters?

Hello, I'm a little sister to the member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Does your organization have little sisters?

No, Delta Sigma Theta does not have a "little sister" organization. I am not completely sure what a Zeta Archonette is but I have, however, often heard you young ladies referred to as their little sisters in addition to being a youth groups for young ladies designed for mentoring, as you already have referred yourself as. Delta Sigma Theta does have an organization for young ladies with similar purposes among others, the DelTeens, but we do not call them our little sisters with respect to grooming them to become members of Delta exclusively. I hope this helps.

"Membership in Del-Teen does not have any bearing on future membership into Delta Sigma Theta sorority, inc."

This is what is in my old Del-Teen hand book!

They did not groom us to be Delta's exclusively, but they did groom us!! I know they did a job on me!! I love them to death and I think they are soooo active...they helped to give me my roots.

Crimson Rage, I KNOW you know who these wonderful women are...your undergrad chapter had several events for your '01 founders week at their building

Yes, I am very proud of our Founders' Week/Physical and Mental Health Week. Were you able to make it out to any of the events? Also, by "their" do you mean the Del-Teens bldg, or the Deltas bldg? If so, the D'Estee Inc. bldg. is LAMBDA's bldg as well.

You know, I know that the two chapters do a lot together, but I did not know that it was your bldg also.

Girl, naw...I know the Del-teens ain't got no building!!

No, I did not have the opportunity to go to your events because I returned to school on that Monday. I got the flyer at the AKA party @ Northwestern the weekend before your week began and I had a little chat with some of the women from the Theta Alpha chapter. I wanted to stay at least until Tuesday so that I could be in the "midst" at least once during the weeks events, but I had to work.

But I'll tell ya, the events you had for the week sparked a good conversation on the way home from Northwestern that night between my friends and I. They could not understand why the weeks events were so "boring" and educational. You know this pissed me off...and they are interested too!! I challeged them to really learn why they desired to be Deltas so much. They told me that they are not as serious as myself and that its different where they're from; they told me nobody is as serious as me especially at their school.

Humph, I did not know what to do with myself or them

Question

Are the DelTeens college students or high school students?

The DelTeens are typically high school students. The age group is 13-18. May I ask why you are interested in this? Are you just curious or doing some sort of research?

ZetaArchonette,

Here's a link to the Montgomery County (MD) Alumnae Chapter's Delta Academy and DelTeen programs. http://www.mcacdst.org/spotlt_deltaacaddelteen.shtml I hope it gives you a better view of how these programs work.

Kelli

I'm not doing any research, I just like to know about all the organization. This isn't the only organization I asked that question to. I believe that just because you want to join one organization doesn't mean you shouldn't know about the other organizations.

I agree ZetaArchonette. I was just curious. I think it is good that you are inquiring about similar organizations to that which you are a part. I hope you have gathered the info that you were looking for.
