Question Rush at Your School!

Hey everyone! I am about to write a paper for class on sorority recruitment, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out! Basically, I would like to know information on the way that different schools do rush...for example--how many people pledge vs. how many are "let go" or withdraw, how many people go through rush--any general information about rush at your school and they way it is done. This would be such a great help to me! I would REALLY appriciate this!!

Thank you so much!

-Morgan

Honestly, I don't think you're going to get a lot of volunteers to help.

While the recruitment process is a fairly public process that happens on thousands of campuses all over the US and Canada, many members (collegiate and alumnae) choose not to divulge information to those they don't know.

My suggestion? Do a search on recruitment threads in this forum. There are many threads about specific cutthroat campuses.

I understand what you are saying, I'm not asking about information about certain sororities and the way that they do rush, but about they way a certain school does rush.

And I'm saying that there are already discussions on GC that give information on how schools do rush. If you're interested in competitive rush and how it's structured, how many women who go through, facts and figure, check out some of the threads regarding the SEC -- I know UF and FSU had numbers posted after FR was finished.

If you're looking at medium-sized NPC campuses or campuses with a small Greek Life, we've got that too. GC's a good source for general information.

But if you're interested in a specific campus, your best bet would be to contact their office of Greek Affairs.

Also, you really don't want to use an Internet message board as a source for an academic paper. AT ALL. After all, how would you cite it?

A conversation with a group of Greek advisors at a broad spectrum of schools and newspaper articles about results are your best bets for unbiased information and academic integrity.

believe me, I would not use this as my source...the paper is an editorial, therefore we don't have to cite many things. I'm just trying to get a feel for rush at other schools so i can do some further research... I know that there are already threads about this but they are very scattered and I thought it would be interresting and informative to have one about many schools. Not just about tough and large school, but small ones as well.
