Question Is the timing right?

I would love some input from fellow GCers about what is sort of a Catch-22 for me. You've all been so helpful thus far, and I appreciate it. Here goes:

I have not been able to pursue AI as consistently as I wanted to recently due to moving a couple times, and returning to school to finish my degree. However, I must say the National AI representatives in the group I'm interested in have been so helpful and friendly and have told me to contact them again when I'm ready.

My dilemma is this: I feel ready to pursue this again, but there is a very real probability that I'll be moving again out of state (again) soon, since I've finished my degree and now need to find a "real" job. I will need to be sponsored by an alum group for AI, but I worry that if I move out of state and pursue this that I might not "mesh" with the alumnae women as much as I might mesh with them here at home, where they might be more similar to me. On the other hand, a lot of the collegiate chapters for XYZ have closed in this region due to low membership, so the alum chapters aren't really in the position to sponsor alum initiation in the first place!

I've re-written the letter I intend to send to XYZ's national AI representative (the third such person to hold that position since I started my AI pursuit). Should I send the letter now, solicit her advice on what to do, or just continue to hold off a little longer?
