Need Ideas for a All Panhellenic Sisterhood
Hi everyone
I am in the process of planning an all panhellenic sisterhood and I am in dire need of some ideas for the event. The purpose of the event is to get the girls to meet each other and have fun in the process.
I am looking for something that is inexpensive and fun and I really can not think of anything at the moment.
If you have any ideas can you please post them or PM me with them.
Thank You So Much
Annice

Questions?
Well i think we could use a little more information. How many sororities are there? How big are they? Do you have houses? Are they on the same street (ie sorority row, hill, etc)?
I think that having like a progressive dinner could be fun. Each sorority could cooka certain part of the meal and all the sororities could visit each others houses and have fun. This is of course if theya re all in the same area and the sororities actually have houses.

Sorry, can't think of any good ideas for the moment, but one panhellenic sisterhood I went on was putt-putt golf, and I thought it didn't work out that well. Each group of like 4 girls from each sorority walked around to each hole together and hung out, which defeated the purpose of having a *panhellenic* sisterhood. If putt-putt or bowling is done, the teams need to be split up with just one member of each sorority on each team, so everyone socializes with people from the other groups.

When I was a new member, Panhel did a tea for all sorority new members. Our new member educators and (I think) presidents were also invited. It was a "Welcome to Panhellenic" type of thing.
Problem is, they didn't do any icebreakers or make any effort to mix people up, so people mostly stuck with their own sororities. A tea could work if you have a way to get people to mingle.

okay...so there are these mazes that you can go through. I totally think it would be an awesome sisterhood to try to find your way through it. Maybe you could slit the girls into groups of 6 (one girl from each sorority ina group) and they can find their way through it together. Also there are fun little things for you to do besides go through the maze. I think this isnt the typical bowling, mini-golf, etc thing. It is something that probably doesnt get dome a lot, plus it is the perfect time of year for it with haloween and thanksgiving coming up.
It could be cute. Your shirts could say something like Front: (your schools name) Panhellenic Back: A-mazing sisterhood
OK kinda korny shirt but a fun idea!

That's what we do at my school. Freshmen aren't allowed to rush until second semester, so at the end of first semester right before winter break, all the sororities get together and do a dessert party for girls so they can come and see what Greek Life is all about and have some yummy desserts.

Our Panhellenic does a "Rainbow Social" every fall. We rent out the Alumni House on campus so it is at a neutral location. NPHC sororities are invited as well. All of the members wear chapter jersey (which are made in the official colors-thus Rainbow) and each chapter is expected to bring a treat that represents their sorority and can feed lots of people.
Examples:
SSS brought sailboat cookies
KD made a teddy bear cake
AKA made pink and green rice krispy treats
AOP makes awesome chocolate chip cookies. Everyone looks forward to them-not in the color scheme but they are definitely known for their cookies!
Everyone mills around an socializes. A short presentation is given by each chapter's president so the rest of the girls know the symbolism of the item and a little about the history of the GLO. It is definitely fun, but it is up to the individuals to actually mingle with those in other organizations.

A progressive dinner, where each house provides a course. You could do:
1. Appetizers
2. Soup
3. Salad
4. Entree
5. Dessert
6. After Dinner Drinks (coffee, tea, etc.)

A progressive dinner is a great idea!
My temple does one every year, but they implement it a little differently so that people aren't running (i.e., driving) to a lot of different places. Everyone gathers at one house for appetizers, then everyone goes to one of 4-6 houses that host the main meal. After dinner, everyone gathers at yet another house for dessert. People get to socialize with everyone over appetizers and desserts, and are broken up into 4-6 smaller groups for dinner.
You might have one sorority host appetizers, another host desserts, and the other four host dinners. Then, just make sure that the dinner groups are cross-sections of all six sororities.
