Any 4X4ers out there?

This past weekend my husband and I volunteered to do a trail clean-up on one of the areas highly used trails. A large group had adopted the trail and does this yearly. We thought it was very important to participate because if clean-ups don't get done the forest service will eventually shut the trails down...Like the have already. Well, after a long morning of of making detours and cleaning up trash everyone decided to go play. Our group of 4 rigs was asked to join this other group of 7 rigs to cross this really hard area that usually requires the use of winch to get you out. We did. It took 3 hours to get their 7 rigs through, with 4 of them breaking along the way. The guys from our 4 were stacking rocks, tugging, pulling and helping out where ever they were needed to help these 7 guys through. As soon as their last rig crested the top they all took off leaving the 4 of us behind. I though at first they were just getting out of the way but they never came back.

I started to become bothered that these guys would just ditch us there. I mentioned something to the others in case I missed some conversation and they were all a little blown away also. By this time it was dark and we were on a trail that none of us knew very well and we hard about 3 hours left before we were on stable solid ground. When we finally reach the base camp at about 9:00pm, the 7 others realized that they had made a huge mistake and were back pedaling and making up excuses for why they left 4 groups out the middle of no where.

Once everything settled I started talking to a couple of the guys from the toher group and found out that not only did they leave the 4 of us but they also left 3 of their 7 broken down on the trail. Thankfully we were all safe and no one was injured. When we made it back and their other 3 hadn't they sent out a rescue team to try and locate them. No one was prepared to be out there after dark and in the freezing cold.

I am not mad about it anymore but I am still absolutely shocked that they would not only leave us but their own behind....
Thanks for letting me vent.......

(OlllllO) Jeep.

That's ri-goddang-diculous; I would've been livid. It's nice that yall are adopting. Most people here just take everything with them as they go, except for a stray can here and there. Did anyone have a 2-way radio?
