Thumbs up What Lambda Chi Means To Me

This is printed from a Zetas List server that was sent to me.

I think it is important to all of The LXA Brothers Active and Alums everywhere.

I am not sure if we ever met, but I was S I's little brother. I was only at FIT for 1 year, but it was one of the biggest learning experiences of my life. I have not been back much and put that part of my life into the "things I learned from" file. Only the occasional car tag on a passing car brought me back. I am not sure if I got an email or just happened on the website and registered, but when I got your Dues letter, all of the things that Lambda Chi and FIT meant to me came back. As I read the different parts I wanted to be back there at 103C living in the backroom with Pat "Rancid" O'Reilly, down the hall from D W and S. Hanging out at the PIT and Shroom, sitting on the stairs, talking with my friends, and living what I have now realized was the good life. So what is this all leading up to? After reading and remembering, I gave what I hoped would help a great organization become better. My hope was that another man would get the opportunity to become me a brother and learn the lessons that have taken me many years to understand.

When I got the most recent letter with the Alumni pin in it, I was excited and again touched. While I know that no one could have known that the organization would come up a little short of last year, and that this was because one brother could not do what he had in the past, that is no excuse for the ones of us who can hear the call to not step up and take up the slack. This is not only what we as brothers should feel in our hearts is right, but must also know in our minds is one of the greatest services brothers can do for the brotherhood.

So it is with nothing more than brotherhood in mind that I send you this check making up the standing shortfall of $900.00. I hope that it finds a place next to other checks from brothers who heard the same calling to give a little more. With any luck the shortfall that you wrote about was only a delay in the mail and that this will only add to the coffers. I salute the ones of you that have taken up the calling to organize and control the alumni presence at FIT and I only wish that I could contribute more than money to the cause. I hope to make it down to Founder's Day this year and if I do, I hope to have the honor of buying you a beer and remembering what made me become a brother.

Edited to keep everyone except "Rancid" unknown!

Would be Great to send out to all of the Zetas and placed in the Cross and Cresent.

This is what LXA is and what it is all about.

I thank The Brother that let me see an important letter!

I was hoping to meet this brother since he is from my chapter, but Founders Day (Oct 8 - 10) was officially cancelled today due to the damage and disruption caused by two hurricanes within three weeks. It will be re-scheduled and when it is, I will buy!

Thanks for posting that, Tom.

ZAX,
Jono
