Anyone Remember me?
Yo. Hey everyone. It's me, docetboy.
Just to let you know i've completed my Tech School and am now a Communications-Computer Systems Operator for the world's greatest Air Force (read: glorified help-desk operator)
I'm home in NE on leave right now and will be reporting to my first duty station, Lackland, in a few weeks.
So all you San Antonio GCers check in...

Welcome back docet... so you're now a fully quallified 3C030, huh? (3C030 - AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code) for Docet's career field, at the apprentice level)
And a word of advice from one old veteran... think OPSEC on your signature! Don't need to tip off any potential bad guys!

Basic military training (BMT) for all joining the Air Force is at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. Following BMT, technical training is either at Lackland, Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls or Keesler AFB in Mississippi.
A large amount of Air Force bases are in Texas: Dyess AFB in Abilene (B-1, C-130), Randolph AFB in San Antonio (pilot and navigator training, also HQ for Air Education and Training Command), Laughlin AFB in Del Rio (pilot training), Sheppard (NATO pilot training, tech training), Lackland (basic and technical training).

Figgers... Guess the new AFSCs end in 1...
The modern AFSC for my career field when I was in is 3M051 (Services Specialist) - back then it was still separated into separate Billeting (611X0) and Food Service (622X0). MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) was totally separate and not (yet) merged into Services.
