Now that Carville is part of the Kerry campaign, they've really pulled out all the stops, eh?

DUI, doesn't make you a bad person or a bad leader. Although it is a PC topic today.

Certainly not a campaign issue.

I thought that this thread was going to be about Ted Kennedy.

I bet it's Ted Kennedy, Democrat. I hear he wishes he could run for president but one nasty DUI incident especially ruined it for him.

More TK bashing
Massachusetts' Sen. Ted Kennedy "is launching a seven-week election drive" on Kerry's behalf. As if Kerry needs help running his campaign off a bridge.

Why can't they just leave the past in the past and focus on their performances in office, their stances on issues and the RECENT past? Sheesh! This campaign is really getting to be a joke.

In this day in age even that might not stop him from getting elected. Presidents get voted in for stuff that in the past would have forced them to drop out from running.

The crime qualified as manslaughter because his license had expired (although this was quickly fixed up during the investigation). This is definitely awful stuff.
Other things that Ted did:
1) Ted was not nominated even by the DNC which chose Carter.
2) Ted managed to attack the Shah of Iran and show he was an ignorant animal and thus provide support to the terrorists that held Americans hostage in Iran.
3) Ted also went on a CBS interview in front of all of America and was asked why he wanted to be President. Ted mumbled and sounded drunk - in front of all of America.
Ted has never since run for President and he is scum and you know it. The only thing keeping him prominent is his last name - otherwise the Democrats would have dropped his ass a long time ago to avoid further embarassment.

Rudey, Senator Kennedy is a Senator and has held been a Senator since 1962. He has been re-elected seven times since he replaced his brother and is the second most senior member of the Senate.

Given that we were talking about him running for president, I'm glad you picked up on my obvious mistake and provided the explanation on how long the scum has been in office.

No problem. Now it would be nice if you could stop referring to the Senator as scum.

I think that a certain amount of respect should be given to the office even if you don't agree with or like the individual holding the office. I had written the same thing about the late Sen. Strom Thurman when he passed away so this isn't a partisan thing for me. Referring to any Senator, Congressman, or President as scum or POS is extremely disrespectful in my opinion.
