Drinking in Letters

I've been looking for where it specifically says that Chi Omegas can't drink in letters. I've been looking through the membership manual, and can't find it actually printed out. Can anyone point me in the direction to where I can find that we can't do this? Thanks so much!!

As far as I know, this is not a "National Rule". It's simply a good idea to not do it as you aren't always at your classiest with a few beers in your system.

Thanks Kathy...I agree, its not classy, and so I was hoping that there was some sort of set rule on the issue...hopefully girls will realize how it looks to others when they do this.

My Exec board asked the National Team about this when they came to visit our chapter. They told us, as Kathy said, that there is no actual written rule saying that sisters cannot drink in their letters. They said it falls under the category of "Conduct Unbecoming of a Chi Omega" and were glad that our chapter had taken a strong stance on it. I cannot remember off the top of my head if we have this written in our by-laws or not. If you are looking for this rule to be written out for people in your chapter I would suggest submitting it to the by-laws committee and hopefully they will add it during by-law revisions.
