What Is This Thing Called?

Do any of you know where you can buy those cute little things that people have on their rear-view mirrors? They have this thin, clear string that they are attched to and it's like a little tear-drop shaped piece of crystal and it hangs from your mirror. My friend is the most impossible person to shop for, but we were driving the other day and passed a car that had one hanging on their mirror and she made a comment about how cute it was. I wanted to get it for her, but I have no idea what it's called or where to get it at....any ideas?

Most of our local street/art fairs have a booth with crystals. My daughter bought a beautiful etched crystal at our Renaissance Festival last weekend. There may be booths in the malls that have them too.

They have them at lots of stores. Claires might even have them

Just watch out, though. It's illegal in Virginia to have things hanging from your rearview mirror, and I've had friends get pulled over for it.

I don't know if there is a name for what you're describing other than to call it "a crystal on a piece of fishing line".

Where to find one is equally as ambiguous. I see them in places like card shops, gift stores and drug stores. There's even a little "mom and pop" Mail Boxes Etc type of place by my house that has a display full of them in all shapes and sizes. If you're really stuck, you might want to try a New Age/Metaphysical shop which you could probably find by looking in the Yellow Pages - they're sure to have loads of crystal things.

Good luck!

Ding ding ding! Yup, I would have never remembered that's what those things are called.

I always saw them at new age stores or any place where you could buy tarot cards and stuff.
