Pearl Ceremony

Hi everyone!
My chapter is trying something new this year (an idea that we actually saw from the Drexel girls at convention...thanks!) where everyone is going to get a pearl necklace. We were hoping to do a little ceremony to go along with it...and we're looking for any good quotes or stories about pearls and their meaning or symbolism. Any ideas that you have would be greatly appreciated!

You might consider contacting HQs and asking them for the # of that guy Barry that spoke at the opening night dinner. I think he talked about Pearls, and had some good quotes.

I am a Drexel Advisor, so I have that necklace you're talking about. It's really a GREAT piece of jewelry, especially once you're an alum and may not wear a lavaliere anymore

Barry was our Greek Advisor until he left. You can PM me and I will send you his updated email address.

The pearl speech he gave at convention was similar, but not as good as the one he gave when we were chartered last April. I'm sure he will be more than willing to help you all out.

Hey ladies! I wanted to let you know that I was at Drexel last night for a housing meeting, and I talked with Whitney, their president. She said they don't do a ceremony for the necklaces...they just give them out. My assumption is that big sisters would present them to them during the big/little ceremony or at initiation.

That doesn't mean you can't write your own though
